Produced for the gallery of E. Wahliss in Vienna. Menzler, a fashionable painter whose works were copied in porcelain decorations, was very popular in Vienna. Revival-style products were designated as “Royal Vienna Style Porcelain”, even though the factory had been shut down in 1864. Ernst Wahliss purchased the original Viennese porcelain factory’s production rights, and porcelain (including luxury decorations) was supplied to Wahliss’s gallery on Kärntner Straße from manufacturers in the Czech lands.
